This is a new web log devoted to—as you probably surmised from the title—music. More specifically, it will focus on what I consider to be the essential music, from a number of genres including rock, blues, R'n'B, soul, funk, psych, prog, plus other subgenres and aural obscurities, of the '60s and '70s. That was my era, and I'm proud of it. However, I also listen to lots of new music as well, so you can expect to read about some contemporary stuff here too, particularly about how it relates to or references styles or artists of the past.
Because you see, it's all one continuum. The music never stops...
So please check back (this is sort of a "coming soon" notice, as I put together the first proper post). I look forward to sharing some great music, interesting history, and do my own small part to keep it alive and kickin'. I also welcome your comments and suggestions, because we're all in this together, right? See you in a few.
Now take it to the bridge!
Keef, The Godfather of Soul, and the Killer Bee—now THAT was a mutha!@%&in' party!
Cheers,
